It's been awhile

Sorry for my lapse in posts. I having been trying to figure out where this blog is going and what I want to focus on. While I have still not decided other than its gonna be a blog about Ry and I trying to go on and live our lives in the absence of the one little boy that meant the world to us, I also want to focus on getting the word out about childhood cancer and the grim statistics that parents like us and many more around the world are faced with on an everyday basis!

Part of that is bringing awareness to organizations and people that are doing great things in the name of fundraising and research for Childhood cancer. I am pleased to call one of them my friend. Cassie Sartin and her husband Alex have been fighting alongside their precious son Sam since April of 2010 when he was diagnosed with neuroblastoma. They blog over here She is the lady who turned me on to St. Baldrick's and all the wonderful things they do in the name of research. They are shaving their heads just a day or two before me (which is only a week away-AHHH!) and made a video that I think is very insightful and will have a huge impact on people if we can get it out there.

It showcases kids, young and old, who have fought and are fighting this terrible disease. Please check this out and share with friends, family and loved ones and if you find it in your heart-DONATE to the cause!

Please bear with me as I find the new direction of the blog...I will take any and all suggestions, even the name is up in the air.

With much love on this 3 month angelversary of Keegan's passing!

  1. Stay open minded and follow your heart where a part of Keegan will always reside. This way we will all get to share him through you!

  2. I say you change the name to "Remembering Keegan" and just keep us updated on your life, how you are doing, what you are up to and so on. If and when you have another child, just keep going. Keep it on your life.

  3. Thank you so much for your kind words and for sharing the video. Love you, Beth!

  4. Hi Beth,
I know that most mom's who have lost their child will continue to blog about their feelings and what they are going through, it is good therapy. As for a suggestion to the title of your blog how about along the lines of... Till we meet up with you again; loving Keegan.

Great video for cancer awareness. Thanks for sharing it.

Praying for you Beth. Keep your eyes on Jesus and allow Him to heal your heart.

  5. Can't believe angel kee has been in heaven for three months already. In a way it seems like only yesterday Amanda had him at breakfast and I was holding the precious angel with six fingers and toes in my very arms but at the same time it was so very long ago. I don't (exactly) know wat I'm going to do when I grow up but I do know that it is positively going to be something that honors Keegan in every way shape and form possible for he is my hero as well as u Beth. I will never forget the moments at his funeral when u read his favorite book and how I found Christ that very day even if my whole life depends on it. I know I toldu this a million bagillion times already but iris just so true that I have been so changed by u and ur little boy. And for u kee........ I thought of u with love today but that is nothing new. I thought about u yesterday and days before that too. I think of u in silence and often speak ur name but all I have are memories and ur picture in a frame. Ur memory is my keepsake in which I'll never part. God gas u in his keepings I have u in my heart. Btw...I know I've shared this with u a million times as well but I just love it sooooo much. Remember....god gives. Godtakes. Gods name be ever blessed. -Emily Brandenstein

  6. In my opinion, you should keep the name the same. Your Keegan was so beautiful and whether or not you can hold him in your arms, you still hold him in your heart... Karing for Keegan always :) Prayers for your healing.

We love feedback; however, if you have nothing nice, encouraging, uplifting or insightful to say don't say anything at all. Thank You!
