What's New Wednesday

NOTE: This was ready to go on Wednesday! I woke up in the middle of the night and remembered I had not posted it yet-tis life I guess!

It seems that spring is finally here....well until tonight. The temperature has been hanging out in the 70's the last couple of days,  this in turn means sneaking in and out the front door when Keegan is hanging out inside so he doesn't get all upset from not being outside OR slipping in and out the back door so he has no clue what is going on. On Monday we spent 3 or 4 hours straight out on the front porch! That is a long time to swing and play on the ground without being able to pee, cleanup inside or eat! The weather is supposed to turn more seasonal (i.e. 40's and 50's) starting tonight so we are going to try to take advantage of this last nice day this afternoon.

Therapy
  • Keegan stood for 10-15 minutes at the ottoman during PT on Monday. Patty and her student were very pleased. Yea Keegs!
  • Saturday he tried to pull himself up not once but two times on the ottoman to get his toy! When I told our therapist she was over the moon!
  • During speech last Friday, Toni, our therapist was very happy with his eating techniques. He is moving his tongue (like mentioned last week) to the left side but need to work on the right a little more. He is also starting to stick his tongue out to get stuff off his lips.
  • He LOVES the Nuk brush that our therapist uses::note to self, need to get one off the internet::
New Things
  • This week not only can Kee point to where his head is, he has learned where his belly is and points to that! Now we have started to work on where his toes are, hopefully by next week I can report on that!
  • Kee tried Cheerios for the first time this week, he is loving new foods!
  • Now he is going both forwards and backwards in his walker-plus turning around. Yesterday I was pricing stuff for our yard sale and turn around to see Keegan has taken our paperwork out of the buffet and its all over the ground minus the piece he kept in his hand as a souviener.
  • We put the legs on Keegan's little activity table, while he can't pull himself up yet he loves sitting down and playing with it. It helps him sit up taller and focus on things at a higher eye level.

Health
  • Still have the rash, I called Riley today and spoke to a phone nurse. She let me know that I can have Dr. C handle it and call Riley with any questions. I gave him some benedryl to see if that helps and have been putting a steroid cream on it. The steroid cream isn't really doing much-not getting better or worse-so i am going to try his antifungal cream for a little while and see what that does.
  • His next MRI is May 12th, its our one year tumor ressection anniversary and I am super nervous. If you pray can you start praying now?
  • We have an endocrinologist appointment at the end of May and have to do our 3 hour drive there 3 hour drive back trip, no looking forward to that.
The Family
  • Our anniversary is the 29th, we have been married for 3 years! So much has happened in the last 3 years it feels like just yesterday.
  • We are getting things together and ready for our annual yard sale, I will use the proceeds to buy new clothes for the family for our vacation in July.
  • Speaking of vacation. Ry, Keegan and I are taking a trip to Florida (St. Pete Beach) in July, we are very excited and looking forward to swimming with Kee in the ocean and the pool in the house we have split amoungest everyone!
So many new things happening all around! Here are some pictures from the past week:
