22 Weeks!

This week we are the size of a Papaya. I Can tell too, I feel Large and in charge let me tell you. Nothing really new this week, I posted previously about our doctors appointment last Friday. I am staying positive and trying to focus on making sure I take care of him and I and trying not to stress too much! Dr. Logan, the Doctor my mom works for, assured her that his son, with all 4 of his kids, had something like this pop up during pregnacy, and like Dr. Mann Dr. Logan thinks that maybe technology is a hinder rather than a help at times. I dont know, only time will tell, hopefully when we go to the Perinatologist on 7/14 he will say everything looks good! I know we have a lot of people praying for him and that definatly helps! We started working on the nursery last night and when I say "we" I definatly mean Ryan. He started by marking off where the cut is going to be to get the paneling down. We decided about 1/4 of the way up the way. Then tonight he took his circular saw and made the first couple of cuts to it! So far so good, the wall looks great back there so that is good news! We did buy the paint on Sunday b/c the $5 rebate per gallon was going on. So we are ready to go in the paint department! Mom took me shopping for Maternity clothes last night! It was super fun to hang out with her and Abby for a little bit. Mom got me a black cotton dress, 2 shirts and a pair of shorts (thank goodness) I have been sweating my begebies off the past couple of weekends! She also bought Keegan a little polo striped onesie and a sleeper with footies, she also picked up a good book for him! He is even starting to move around more and more. Last night Ry actually got to see him move a little from the outside. We can seem to time it right for him to feel him kick yet but he did see the little bump out at one point! I am getting excited for the pool at Abby and Mom's apartment to open, that will be a refreshing change!
Best Moment of the Week: Starting on the Nursery
Movement: Getting stronger and more frequest.
Food Cravings: Chocolate
Gender: Boy!
Labor Signs: None yet
Belly Button in or Out: In but slowly working its way outward, kinda creepy
Stretch Marks: yep!
What I miss: Good nights sleep w/o back pain.
What I am looking forward to: Going to pick up the crib and painting his room.
Milestones: Ryan seeing him move from the outside!

Ultrasound Pics from 6/26/09......Still a Boy!

Ultrasound went relatively well, there is a concern for some possiable cysts on his bowel but my OB is sending me to a Perinatologist for a 2nd opinion since it is just the tech who "saw" this. Keep Keegan in your prayers please but dr. Mann did say everything else is great, heart, brain, kidneys....I see the Perinatologist on 7/14/09 and my Ob again on 7/24/09.

Yard Saling, Garage Saling, Rummage Saling.....Whatever you call it!

So today Laura, Angela and I ventured out to go hunting for bargains! Boy oh Boy did I hit the jackpot! Angela goes to these things quite often and I have said I wanted to go for weeks now but today we finally did it! I brought a total of $40 with me and I spent every last penny plus $5 of Angela's (which she insisted I keep for gas money) but anyway, I made out like a bandit. I even found stuff that I had registered for SUPER cheap so I went in and took it off of our registry. At the first stop of the day, which just so happened to be right down the street from my house, I found a TON of super cute super cheap clothes, including a pair of swim trunks for next summer, 2 packages of diapers, some newborn ones which were $3 and some size 2 for $4 and I found a front carrier for Keegan for $5, unopened! The next couple of stops I managed to find "What to Expect in the First Year" for $1, a little dispenser and garbage bag thingy for $1 (unopened) and 2 Advent bottles for $.50! After that we went to another stop and I found a little play thingy for the floor (see pictures below) Almost brand new for $10! It has lights, sound and fun little toys! After that we went a house that lots more clothes, I got a "new" packages of onesies for $1! and lots more clothes! I was super excited, only problem is we dont go pick up the dresser for another month! I guess I will buy some Tide Free and Clear this weekend, wash them all and put away in a storage bin until the dresser comes! Way Exciting!

21 weeks!

So yesterday we reached the 21 week marker! YEA! Its hard to believe, as I think I commented last week that we are this far along. I am sorry to not have posted sooner, last week I was in insurance school ALL WEEK LONG pretty much 8-5 then my big IDOI (Indiana Department of Insurance) test was this morning. Its a 160 question exam and they give you 160 minutes to complete it. You need a 67% to pass and yep you guessed (and thank goodness) I passed. I only got a 70% but it was way hard! I am glad to have that stressor behind me! Let me tell you. This past Saturday I ordered our crib off the Wal-Mart website, it should be at our local Wal-Mart by next week!
All of our bedding has arrived and we even found some pieces to match at our local Babies 'R Us in the clearance section. We were totally excited to score those finds! We got our matching mobile, changing pad cover and Argyle blanket, yea for clearance! Hopefully the weekend of July 4th we can get a good deal on paint, Lowe's and/or Home Depot always run a $5 dollar per gallon rebate on paint at most holidays, so since we need like 3-4 gallons of different colors we figured it wouldn't hurt to wait to get $15-$20 off, every little bit helps!
We started the registering process last weekend and boy what a challenge that is! Unlike our wedding registry, which was stuff we wanted/needed, these are things for a little human being that we are totally unsure of what he will like or end up needing. We started with Babies 'R Us, we were a little taken away by the daunting task but managed to get quite a bit added, we do need to make some changes though! We have also decided to register at Wal-Mart as opposed to Target because we had some difficult times with the Target return policy after our wedding. I did find some cute swings, jumpers and pack and plays on the Wal-Mart website that I just loved! Plus I would love to register for a little red wagon (because every little boy needs one) and a little Tyke Swing!
So far this week I have been feeling pretty good, large but good. I think I am slowly loosing my energy level again, either that or its just my oxygen supply being depleted ever so slowly! I did reach a big milestone this week, I had to take my belly button ring (which has been in for about 10 years) out b/c it was starting to rip and it was hurting really bad! I also had some pretty sharp pains on my right side about mid way through last week, after I looked it up in the books, my sister in law, and my all knowing mother, we believe they were round ligament pain. I just laid on my left side for about 30 minutes with a pillow between my legs until the pain subsided. I did call Dr. Mann on Friday just to confirm that that was what it was and he seemed to think so. Haven't had the problem since, thank goodness!
On to the updates for this week, this week baby Keegan is :
It is shocking how big he is getting in there! I think I am feeling him moving more and more. He tends to be most active in the evening and when I go to bed at night, It makes me feel so much better when I can feel him in there, kind of eases my mind!
Best Moment of the Week: Passing my insurance exam, unrelated to baby but none the less, very exciting!
Movement: Getting stronger and stronger
Food Cravings: Sweet Tea!
Gender: Boy!
Labor Signs: None yet
Belly Button in or Out: In, but working its way outward!
Stretch Marks: yep!
What I miss: Coffee
What I am looking forward to: Our 2nd BIG ultrasound Friday, anytime we get to see him up on the monitor it makes it more and more real!
Milestones: Belly button ring it out, hopefully if I can loose enough weight post baby I will get it re-pierced! Its my only goal at this point!

Half Way There.....

So Yesterday, yes I am a slacker, marked the 20 week mark! We are halfway there already, where the time has gone! This past week as you know we had our BIG ultrasound to find out that little Keegan will be joining us on/around 11/2/09! We are beyond ecstatic and I think Ryan gets more and more excited when he thinks of all the things he will be able to do with "his little boy." We ordered the bedding this past Saturday so we can match the paint, low and behold it was waiting for Ryan when he came home from work today. This is the pattern we have gone with:
It is the pattern called Splash and it is by the designer MiGi. We believe that it will be a nice complement to the dark nursery furniture posted a few weeks back. We still have yet to get the crib ordered but really we are not in a huge rush b/c we want to make sure the room is painted and the carpet is cleaned before we start putting furniture in there! Next Friday we go for our 6 month appointment, before that we have some more ultrasound pictures that need to be taken of his little heart (no problems that we know of they just couldn't get all the measurements. I promised more ultrasound pictures so here are some of his adorable little profile:

This week Little Keegan is : the size of a small Cantaloupe, YUMMY! It says he should be about 10.6 oz but at the ultrasound on Friday we was measuring at 14 oz, ugh oh, we will see what Dr. Mann has to say about that! Other than that, I have been getting really hungry lately and have been trying to make good food choices, its kind hard when you are in Insurance School all day and get a lunch break but can "snack" during the day. I am doing the best that I can that is for sure! I thought I would be feeling more movement by now and I got scared the last couple of days because I didn't think I felt him moving as much but I think he got in a different position and he just wasn't felt as well in whatever that position could be. I do have a call into my phone nurse because I am neurotic like that! Other than this everything is good, I am gonna finish up here though, getting kinda hungry for dinner! Taco Night!

Best Moment of the Week: Getting the bedding from UPS today!
Movement: yep, its sporadic but there.
Food Cravings: Shocktarts, now called Shockers!
Gender: Boy!
Labor Signs: None yet
Belly Button in or Out: In
Stretch Marks: yep!
What I miss: Caesar Salad
What I am looking forward to: Feeling him move and kick more!
Milestones: We are half way there!

Sorry this post is a little late in the making, I got lazy to quite honest. But as most of you are aware, we had our big ultrasound on Friday morning. At first little Chupp didn't want to cooperate so the tech started doing all her measurements and showing us different things like the umbilical cord and the baby's hands and feet. After almost 20 minutes baby Chupp decided to cooperate and we got this view (first Picture on the left). Baby Chupp is indeed a little BOY! The ultrasound was pretty neat, he even opened up his mouth and stuck his tongue out at us. His hands also kept going right up to his mouth, which worried me a bit because
he doesn't need to be a thumb sucker like Mommy. We all know how that turned out! The Tech got a couple of really good profile shots but we do have to go back for another ultrasound on the 26th at 8:30 to get some more heart measurements. The baby Chupp was lying in there she couldn't get adequate pictures. She measure his Brain, head, and femur. It was really neat to watch!

We also have settled on a name-quick I know but between the poll we had on here and talking it over daily, it was very easy. Keegan Thomas Chupp will be his name, KT or KC for short! We both love this name as opposed to Rogan Allen, that Ryan really didn't like-aw! The boy's name

Keegan \ke(e)-gan\ is pronounced KEE-gan. It is of Irish and Gaelic origin, and its meaning is "small flame; ardent". Keegan is a very rare male first name and a very popular surname.

We have also decided on the bedding for Little Keegan's room, it is ordered and on its way! I will post that picture in the blog for tomorrow!

19 weeks today and.....

OUR BIG ULTRASOUND IS FRIDAY! Am I excited, I think so! So today marks the 19th week of pregnancy, only 1 week to go to the half way point and 5 weeks until V-Day, Viability day that is! Ryan is finally home, he got home Saturday, 3 days early, from his P.A. Chicago P.A. trip, it seemed like he was gone MUCH longer than he actually was! We had our annual big yard sale out at Rexx's mom's house, we banked about $181 dollars which is being put in the baby account for furniture, bedding and such! Totally excited that I think we found the bedding we want, we have 2 picked out for boys and one so far for a girl, only time will tell at this point! Feeling pretty good other than this pain that has been fairly persistent in the last 24-48 hours. It is a burning/cramping pain that has come to take over BOTH knees, I am fine when I am laying down with both legs propped up but not okay when sitting in a chair or walking, which makes for real ease getting around let me tell you! It hurt so bad last night I just started bawling and wanted to go to the ER. This week Baby Chupp, whom next week shall have a name, is the size (crown to rump) of....DRUM ROLL PLEASE....... a MANGO, not the Chris Katan character from SNL but one of these suckers:So as Friday is anxiously awaited, I will leave you with this:
Best Moment of the Week: Feeling more movement
Movement: Yep, its there!
Food Cravings: Jelly Belly Jelly Beans!
Gender: Girl, girl and girl, lets hope!Still crossing my fingers for a girl

Belly Button in or Out: In

18 Weeks......

Today we are 18 weeks along and I am lonely. Ryan left today for a business trip to Indiana PA and Chicago. He will be gone for a little over a week and will arrive home on Tuesday June 9. This week can not pass quick enough, even though I have a lot going on. Not too much new on the growing fetus front, keep on baking him/her till she/he is ready to make their appearance. I did have my 5 month check up last Friday. As noted in my previous post, all went well and I had my blood drawn because I knew that my thyroid levels were off ( I have been loosing a lot of hair both in the shower and when I straighten it). I called Dr. Mann to get my test results today and YEP, MY LEVELS WERE LOW! Not only am I glad I can read what my body is telling me but the fact that Dr. Inz off REFUSED to draw my blood a couple of weeks ago when my levels were off now amuses me!
This past week was also a "milestone" of sorts. We finally picked out the nursery furniture. It is as follows:
The dresser will have a contoured changing pad on top with diapers and wipes in one or both top drawers for the time being. We both agreed it would be a waste of money to purchase the matching changing table, which is pretty useless later in life. We have yet to pick out bedding BUT once we know if she is a she or he, GAME ON, mark my words. Speaking of our big ultrasound make sure you vote on the side panel for boys names (just in case baby chuppalupagus has a weiner.)
Best Moment of the Week: Locking into every piece of furniture for the nursery.
Movement: yep, its sporadic but there.
Food Cravings: BIG MAC, until yesterday, I fulfilled those hopes and dreams!
Gender: Girl, girl and girl, lets hope!
Labor Signs: None yet
Belly Button in or Out: In
Stretch Marks: yep!
What I miss: Coffee
What I am looking forward to: Our BIG ultrasound on 6/12/09
Milestones: Looking ridiculously pregnant!
